TAUT - Remember Me? - Part 8

"CHRIS!!!!" Dmitri screamed and grabbed at the plane part, "HELP ME, LOGAN!"

Logan ripped away the plane piece away from Chris.

"OH. MY. GOSH! CALL 911!! DO SOMETHING!!!!" Dmitri panicked. 

Dmitri grasped for her phone to realize that Daisy had it.

I'm going to throw up, Dmitri thought as she clutched a nearby tree.

"Dmitri, this is not the time to panic," Logan felt Chris's pulse, "Okay, okay. We need to get to our HQ NOW!" 

Logan carefully picked up Chris's limp body. 

Dmitri would have usually told Logan to back off, that she was the leader, but Dmitri gratefully let Logan take the lead. Dmitri's head spun with terrifying thoughts.

Dmitri's mind fogged over and the world began turning. Her world turned black.

Dmitri sat up with a start. Her head spun. She blinked her eyes, her eyes cleared, and her mind was lifted from it's heavy fog.

"Wher'm I?" Dmitri mumbled as a figure approached and sat at the edge of her bed.

"You're back at TAUT's HQ," it was Logan.

"How?" Dmitri sat up, "Where's Daisy and Hayden and..." Dmitri remembered Chris's face, she gulped, "and, Chris."

Logan looked away.

"Tell me," Dmitri whispered, not sure if she wanted to know.

Logan stood up from the bed.

"Logan..." Dmitri warned.

"We..." Logan began. Dmitri noticed tears forming in his eyes, "I-I-I tried." 

Logan ran out of the room leaving Dmitri in the dark.

"Chris?" Exhaustion swept over Dmitri and she fell into a cold sleep.
