TAUT - Through Fire - Finale

Hi everyone!:D
I'm so excited to make this post! It's the finale of TAUT - Through Fire! SO EXCITING!:D It's also sort of sad, but I'm excited to finish it as well, so I can focus on finishing Sadie's Hope.:)
Remember that?;D
Okay, now...for the finale...
Dmitri sprang out of her bed. Her ears were deaf with the sound of the sirens, and her burns ached, but she somehow ran down the hallway to the meeting room.
"What's going on, you guys?" Dmitri asked.
"Somebody broke out of the organization," Logan said.
"Who?" Dmitri glanced uneasily at the workers and guards running around.
"I don't know. It wasn't anybody that was supposed to be here though. They say that somebody broke in when we were gone on our mission and disarmed the alarms before anybody noticed," Chris replied.
Dmitri's eyes widened. "How did they know our passwords? I didn't know anyone knew them!" Logan and Chris shared a confused look.
"Get back inside your rooms!" Sara yelled, her voice booming. She pushed them back to their quarters.
Chris managed to slip into Dmitri's room and shut the door softly behind her.
"Why are they putting us into our rooms?" Dmitri asked.
The lock snapped shut from the other side. The girls twisted to face the newly locked door.
"They locked us in!" Chris shouted and pulled at the knob. "How dare they?"
Dmitri snatched a stray bobby pin and went to work at the lock.
After a long moment,  Dmitri flung the bobby pin across the room.
"The stupid lock is too advanced for a bobby pin," Dmitri said and flopped onto her bed in exasperation.
Chris pursed her lips, her anger diminishing as she thought.
"Who do you think broke in?" she asked and sat on the bed.
"I have no idea," Dmitri muttered. She and Chris waited on the bed in silence, each pondering who it could have been. The lock clicked, and Sara walked in looking upset.
"We were too late. We only saw a flash of her red hair, then she was gone," Sara said.
Dmitri rolled off the bed.
"What-but... How?" she cried.
"We don't know if she'll ever come back, but if she does... we'll be ready."

TAUT - Through Fire - Part Five

Hi everyone!
I'm really excited for this part, it has a really fun cliff hanger. You thought once they got back to HQ everything would be fine.
*laughs*
How wrong you were.XD
The rope ladder tumbled down from the helicopter.
"Come on!" Dmitri shouted. The trio crawled up the ladder to Sara and Natalie.
"You're safe!" Sara exclaimed and gave them each a quick scan for serious injuries. "You have no idea!" She sighed, continuing to babble as she handed them over to Natalie, TAUT's doctor.
"My, my, you're crispy!" Natalie mumbled and dabbed some ointment onto Dmitri's wrist. Now that they were out of the fire and out of danger, they could finally see their burns.
"Oh." Dmitri pulled away and grabbed her backpack. She showed them the bottle with the mysterious goo. "We hid in a cave that had this stuff covering it, and it wasn't catching fire. I think your scientists could make more and stop the fire." Dmitri paused, trying to remember what else she had to say. "Right. And that other spray is toxic to humans."
Sara took the bottle.
"Wonderful! We will get this to the lab immediately," Sara replied and put the bottle away. "Now. We need to get you home, you've had a dangerous mission and need rest." Sara sat down, starting to text on her phone.
Dmitri went over to Chris and laughed.
"Your eyebrows are completely singed!"
"Yours are, too!" Chris replied. Dmitri stopped laughing, her hand flying to her brows.
"We must look like freaks!" she chuckled. Chris nodded.
"I can't believe we almost died. If it weren't for you, Logan, we would have. Thank you."
Logan smiled, shrugging.
"No problem, I couldn't let you guys die."
Dmitri knew he was addressing both of them, yet she felt as if he were talking directly to Chris. She smiled and shook her head.

As soon as the helicopter landed, Dmitri, Chris, and Logan were taken to their rooms.
Dmitri winced as Natalie put a thick salve on her blistered legs.
"Sorry, but you were somewhat eaten by those flames. You're lucky you survived!" Natalie replied.
Dmitri fought to sit up and look at her legs.
"Sleep now, Dmitri. Your mission is over, it was a success. As we speak, our scientists work to reproduce that paste."
Her words made Dmitri calm down, knowing that her mission wasn't failed, but just was a different sort of success. Natalie departed.
Dmitri snuggled into her covers, quickly falling asleep.

BRRRRIIIIIIING!!!! BAMP! BAMP! BAMP! BAMP!
Dmitri shot up straight in her be, her heart hammering in her chest at the sudden noise. Alarms never rand here unless-
"No! That's crazy!" she told herself, but the speaker confirmed her fears.
"THERE HAS BEEN A SECURITY BREAK, SOMEBODY HAS BROKEN OUT OF THE TAUT HEADQUARTERS!"

CLIFF HANGER!!XD I hope you liked this part, I think the next part is the finale... Oh my gosh, it is! I can't wait!:D

TAUT - Through Fire - Part Four

EEK! YAYY! It's finally here! I'm so happy!XD
Here is the link to the last part in case you need a refresher- LINKEDY LINK LINK.
"No! We have to get to safety!" Chris cried, her eyes showing her desperation.
"Are we just going to keep wandering aimlessly?" Dmitri asked. Chris's eyes glistened, she couldn't tell if it was the smoke or emotion.
"Guys!" Logan appeared on the path. He ran to them.
"Logan!" Chris cried out. "Oh my gosh, I was so worried!"
"I finally found you! Follow me, I found something else while trying to find you," Logan split away from them again, and they ran after him. They came to a small cave, and they hesitated.
"Get in," he instructed.
"What is this cave coated in?" Dmitri asked and touched the oddly stiff goo. Logan shrugged.
"I don't know, but it doesn't burn. I think it's some sort of natural fire repellent," he offered. Dmitri and Chris ducked into the cave.
"We'll stay here until somebody finds us," Dmitri decided and sat down.
She grabbed the spray from her back pack, pushing her tangled hair out of her face. "I guess this is toxic to humans."
Logan and Chris nodded.
"It could be, I'm just glad that we all survived. I don't know how long we were out, but a tree could have fallen on us...or worse." Logan and Chris cringed. Dmitri frowned and leaned back against the cave wall.
Logan snatched her phone out of her backpack.
"Let's find some signal," he said and tinkered with some of the buttons.
Dmitri sighed. "I've already checked, there wasn't anything." Logan tapped more buttons.
"I can't get any signal either." He let the phone drop.
Chris reached out and took the phone from him.
"Give it to the master," she said and after a few minutes, turned it back to the others. "I got a signal!"
"How did you do that?" Logan asked, astonished. She shrugged and handed the phone to Dmitri, but her face showed her pride.
"This is great!" Dmitri dialed Sara and put the phone on speaker.
Ring! Ring!
The trio heard a click and Sara's voice came on.
"Dmitri! Where are you? Are you okay? We're looking all over for you, tell us where you are!" Sara cried.
"We're in this cave. I'm not sure where we are. There are a ton of burning trees and flames and smoke..." Dmitri trailed off.
"Just- try to get somewhere high up so we can see you," she instructed.
"Okay." Dmitri hung up and walked out of the cave.
She grabbed the rocks and hauled herself up onto the top of the cave. She climbed up a few more rocks and peered up at the gray sky. Dmitri kept watch as the heat distorted the sky. Sweat dripped into her squinted eyes. She dropped her head and coughed.
"We need some sort of flag," Dmitri yelled.
"Everything is burning, it's no use," Chris replied with a sigh.
Dmitri frowned. "I'll use my vest. Maybe they'll see the movement and come find us." She tore off her vest and began waving it around.
"Might as well," Chris said.
She shook the vest wildly, trying to attract some attention.
After a while, she set her vest on the cave and tried to catch her breath. The smoke made it hard to breathe, and she felt slightly dizzy.
She swiped a finger through the brown goop and an idea popped into her head. She took out a bottle from her back pack and began to fill the bottle up with the goop.
"When Sara gets here they can make more of this and stop the fire," she said to herself.
She screwed the cap onto the bottle when the faint sound of helicopter blades cut through the crackling fire. She turned her face to the smoke filled sky, and a smile broke out on her grimy face.
"You guys, we're saved!"

As I took these pictures, I took one picture then my phone said I didn't have any space! That was so frustrating, I had to delete pictures I wanted to keep. Bleah!;P But it's okay now, I'm just so happy I have the next part up! Now I can take the rest of the pictures at home, so I hope to get a part up at least once a week!:)

TAUT - Through Fire - Part Three

Hi everyone!:)
I know that some of you are desperate to know what happened in the last part, and I can't wait to reveal what happened!:D
Fire.
Dmitri breathed in pure smoke and her eyes burst open wide as she coughed. Her eyes watering, she tried to gain her thoughts.
How long had I been about? she thought. She scanned the area, but all she saw were flames shooting up all around her, trapping her. Why had I fallen unconscious?
"The spray!" Dmitri cried then realized too late that speaking wasn't a good idea. Her mouth went dry which made her cough harder. The spray must have made them fallen unconscious. It must have been toxic.
"Chris!!" she called. She could barely hear herself above the roar of the fire. "Logan!!!" Dmitri stood up and a wave of dizziness flooded over her. She pushed her fingers into her throbbing temples, telling herself to get it together.
Be the leader.
She grabbed her phone out of her backpack. There wasn't any signal. She pushed it back into her bag and looked around at the fire encasing her. As she looked up at the burning trees, she heard a sickly crack. Her gaze shot to a nearby tree, screaming as it came crashing toward her.
Barely missing the fiery tree, she jumped to the side as the tree burst to life with sparks. Her legs burned with the heat of the fire and, once she snatched up the fallen spray and stuffed it into her backpack, she called out to Chris and Logan, wherever they were. She had to move. They weren't around here. Dmitri stumbled away, dodging flames that threatened to overwhelm her.
"Help!" a voice called out over the sound of the fire.
"Chris!" Dmitri exclaimed and ran to a burning bush, which Chris was stuck in. She grabbed her arms and pulled her out.
"I'm so glad you're safe!" Chris said.
"Where's Logan?" Dmitri questioned and dragged her away from the bush.
"I don't know," Chris coughed, shaking her head.
"We need to get out of here or else we'll burn to death!"
"But what happened? I fainted!" She cried.
"I can't be sure, but I think that spray we used somehow caused it."
"It could be poisonous," Chris added and Dmitri nodded.
"We need to leave. Now."
They tramped through the burning remains of a forest, desperately searching for a way out and to find Logan, whom they called to every now and then. Chris fell onto a slippery, wet rock, saying, "I need water."
Dmitri handed her a hot bottle of water, still looking at the fire around them. Soot lay on the floor like sand and smoke smothered the sky. Neither one of them could stop coughing for long.
After Chris drained most of the bottle, they picked up their trek through the forest, but their hopes diminished as the fire started to get too large around them, blocking paths.
"Wait!" Chris shouted and grabbed Dmitri's arm. "Sara said they'd be waiting for us!"
Dmitri gasped. She was right.
"Yes! If we can find that circle we began in, we could find them!" she exclaimed, her hopes flaring like the flames around them.
"It was this way!" Chris pointed to the left. They ran for what felt like hours, but they didn't find the circle.
Dmitri panted and breathed in heavy smoke as she brought herself to say the two words circling in her mind.
"We're lost."

Another cliffhanger? Ooh...I'm bad....;)
I hope you are enjoying the series!:D
Since these were all the pictures I took when I was at the park, the next part will take longer to get up, but I hope to have it up as soon as possible!:) Thanks for being patient.:)

TAUT - Through Fire - Part Two

Eek! It's finally here!
I am so sorry to keep you waiting for so long! Literally, I feel so badly!:( I just had no time to go to the park until yesterday.
Okay, anyway, back to TAUT!:D In case you need a refresher, which I bet you will, here's the link to the first part- LINKEDY LINK LINK

Dmitri sat with her eyes shut, her simple plan running through her brain. She tried to think of every possibility, every kink in the road that might occur.
"Gee, it's smoky!" Chris coughed as she gazed outside the helicopter.
"That's what fire produces," Dmitri stated, having to shout over the noise of the helicopter.
"Great, thanks! I totally forgot!" Chris replied sarcastically.
Logan sighed and stared at the spreading fire beneath them.
"I wonder what caused a fire that water doesn't stop? Maybe a science experiment?" he wondered aloud.
"I'm guessing a science experiment that went rogue. That's usually the case for us!" Dmitri guessed.
"Okay, we're gonna propel the rope ladder down now! We'll wait from the air until you're done!" Sara shouted over the noise. Chris snatched off her glasses, since she only needed them for close up, she would rather be free from them for the mission. Dmitri, Chris, and Logan climbed down the ladder and landed in a circle that was free from flames....for the time being.
"Okay, I got the stuff." Logan handed the spray to Dmitri.
"Great, let's get this over with," Dmitri coughed. She began to mist the air all around them, then stepped closer to the flames and sprayed repeatedly at it.
"That should be good for now, we have to wait for the chemical to make its way through the fire," she told them and sat down on the wet ground, as far away from the flames as she could.
Chris and Logan mimicked her and also sat on the ground.
"The ground is soaked! They must have used tons of water!" Chris exclaimed as she dug her fingers into the wet dirt. Dmitri nodded. A nauseating smell filled the air and Dmitri gagged. It must be the spray. She felt the taste of metal in the back of her mouth and scowled.
"Mmmhmmmm uhmmmMmmm?" Chris mumbled something, but Dmitri only heard mumbles. Breathing in the putrid air, her eyes blurred and her head fogged over.
She scrambled up, desperate to escape the unconsciousness she knew was grabbing at her. Not again! She thought. Dmitri heard two dull thumps as Chris and Logan's head hit the ground. Clawing at her last strands of consciousness, Dmitri's world went black.
