Oh my goodness! I'm actually starting the first part of the second season of TAUT! I can't believe it, I am so excited!:D
I do want to say that I made this story a while ago, probably around a year ago, so I am sorry if my writing quality isn't great. I have edited it recently, but that doesn't make up for everything that's wrong.;)
But anyway, presenting TAUT....Through Fire, Part One....
Dmitri chewed the inside of her cheek thoughtfully as she sat at the computer slowly typing in a combination of words and numbers, her friends sitting on the other side of the spacious living quarters.
For years TAUT had kept them there, in an organization and ever since Dmitri had been trying to get out, to break the password on the contact sites of the main computer. She had to just type a few words, to her mom, to tell her that she was okay and not to worry.
Chris wheeled herself out of her room.
"Hey, Dmitri!" Chris said while she struggled to turn her wheels. "Guess what?" She looked up, her eyes alight with exciting news and an eager grin on her face.
"What?" Dmitri replied with her usual even tone. Taking a deep breath, Chris prepared herself for the news.
"Natalie, TAUT's doctor, cleared me and said I can get out of this wheelchair tomorrow!"
"How exciting!" Sara, TAUT's co-manager said, taking away any reply Dmitri could offer.
"If you guys are going to Vernon State forest then you can't be wheeling around this old thing," Sara tapped the wheelchair lightly as she spoke.
"Another forest? We were just in one on our last mission!" Hayden complained, looking up from her iPad.
"Why do we need to go to another forest?" Dmitri questioned.
"There's an out-of-control fire that is spreading through the forest. Water won't quench it and, if allowed to spread farther, things will get hectic. Our scientists have been working on a formula that will stop the fire. Though it is untested, we have a strong belief it will work. We will fly you over the fire and drop you in so that you can spray the fire with it," Sara explained.
"Uh, isn't that dangerous?" Logan asked, suspicious.
Sara hesitated but continued, "Very."
"Don't worry, I can handle it," Dmitri stated. "Tomorrow we fly there and I'll bring Logan and Chris. Sorry, you two-" Dmitri glanced at Hayden and Daisy's frowns, "-but I don't think we'll need you for this mission."
"You never need us! You should of just left us with our families!" Hayden sulked into her chair, her arms crossed as she refused to look at anything but the ground. Daisy seemed to be just as upset and obviously thought the same as her friend.
Dmitri sighed, then turned her attention back to Sara. "Okay, where is the spray?"
"We'll give it to you when we fly over the fire tomorrow. Today, you all will stay here and prepare."
I hope you liked it!:D I know this wasn't the most exciting part but it will get better. You'd be shocked at all of the editing I did as I made this post. Who knew I've grown so much over the year?:D
