Sadie's Hope - Part Six

GUYS. CAN Y'ALL EVEN BELIEVE IT?
After nearly a whole year I am posting the next part of Sadie's Hope. Since all of you know you need a refresher, here are all of the parts in order so you can read and remember what the heck has happened---
(Disclaimer: Earlier, the lady who had dragged Sadie and Amy down to the basement was played by one of Jaclynn's dolls. But now, she is played by Elizabeth. Just wanted you to know...they are the same character.:))
*lights go down*
Sadie had gone to bed directly after her conversation with Ida, and hadn't gotten up until the wiry lady jabbed her in the side with her knife-like fingers.
"Wake up, one hundred and twelve!" she hissed and pulled the covers off of Sadie.
"Hey!" Sadie shouted and grasped for the stained blanket. Sadie had a feeling she would be hating this lady even more than before- if possible.
"Get up!" the lady howled. Sadie curled her fingers into a fist.
"Here is a list of chores you must complete before tonight. That is, if you wish to eat." She shoved a long list at Sadie.
"Oh, please. You keep it. I'm honored though, really," Sadie said sarcastically, pushing it away.
The lady yanked Sadie up to her feet by her hair. Sadie cried out, biting back tears of pain.
"It is not an option. You get to do chores, you scum."
Sadie winced at her throbbing head but said no more. She definitely knew she hated this lady. Almost as much as Mark.
Weeks had gone by, and Sadie still waited in the dirty orphanage for some way of escape, somehow managing to get dirtier than when she arrived.
She had gotten  used to the lady who always gave her a list of chores in the morning. But the good thing was that she and Ida had become great friends, which made the orphanage tolerable now that she had someone to speak with. All she needed was an escape plan.
"One hundred and twelve!" the lady, also known as Miss Hallowell, shouted. "Somebody is here to adopt you."
Sadie and Ida looked up from their chores. Sadie panicked. She wasn't supposed to be adopted! This would ruin everything!
"Scum, wash your face off!" Miss Hallowell demanded.
Sadie scrubbed at her face with a rag, still panicking. She had to get back to her brother, Amy, she had--
Her frantic thoughts were interrupted by Miss Hallowell as she thrust her down the stairs. Gingerly stepping downstairs, Sadie saw a lady dressed in nice clothing waiting at the desk.
"This one has been here for about a month now," Miss Hallowell said.
"Hello, what is your name?" the woman asked, her voice gentle and soft.
"Sadie. Sadie Darrel," she replied.
"Hello, Sadie, I'm Mrs. James. I want to adopt you," Mrs. James said sweetly.
Sadie shot a glance to the door. She couldn't be adopted! She had things to do!
"Go back to your room so that we can discuss things, Sadie," Miss Hallowell said. Sadie noticed the use of her name and felt a sense of loathing rise inside her. Of course, she was using her name now that she had someone to impress.
Sadie scrambled up to her room, forgetting about the evil Miss Hallowell. She thought about making an escape right now, but all too soon, Miss Hallowell dragged her back down the stairs.
She didn't even get to say goodbye to Ida.
"She's going to adopt you," Miss Hallowell informed. Numbly, Sadie followed Mrs. James into her sleek black car.
Mrs. James chatted all of the way to her house, but Sadie blocked her out. What about her brother? What about Amy? What about Ida?
She needed to tell Mrs. James her problems, so she opened her mouth...and spilled.
"Mrs. James, I have a brother that is in another orphanage, and I promised him I would get him out and come back for him! Please, do you expect me to not help him and leave him in an orphanage for the rest of his life?" Sadie prayed she would reply saying what she hoped she would say.
Mrs. James stuttered, shocked at this new development. She drove the car to the side of the street and turned it off.
She twisted in her seat after a minute and said, "Sadie, I wouldn't think about leaving him in an orphanage. Families ought to stay together."
Sadie let out a shaky breath, smiling. They were going to get her brother.
"But I really should check with my husband before we do anything. Then we'll figure it all out." Mrs. James smiled warmly and turned the car back on.

Sadie sat in silence, wondering.
What if Mr. James doesn't want my brother? What if I never see Michael again?
There were too many what ifs in Sadie's life, and she was getting tired of being out of control.

What I Would Do If I Owned American Girl

Hi everyone!
(CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE IT'S SEPTEMBER??? O0O)
I am here posting with my new schedule! I can already tell I'm gonna like only posting once a week! It totally gives me the time I need to make quality posts!:)
This post is about what I would do differently if I owned the American Girl company!:D Let's get right on into it-

1. Lower the ding-dang prices
SERIOUSLY. I remember the times when I was younger and dolls only costed like $95 and the furniture was $60, and everything was WAAAYYY cheaper! I would bring it back down to that so more people could afford it. And if more people can afford it, more people will buy it, which means MORE MONEY FOR ME!XD

2. Get the advice of some reputable bloggers
Everyone knows that we bloggers have some amazing ideas that American Girl needs to follow. And I really do think that someone in the AG company does look at some of our blogs because does anyone notice the lack of pink in the most recent releases? That was all of the people who didn't like it getting their voices heard! (So, that means that people need to stop complaining about all of the blue and purple. THERE'S NO PINK SO TRY TO LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE!!!XD)
But since bloggers have such great, creative ideas, I would hire some occasionally to give me ideas to make AG better.:)
3. Clothing...
I have lots of thoughts about AG clothes...I couldn't pin this change down to just one idea. So here are all of my ideas for changes to AG clothes-
More neutrals! I think that having some outfits that include neutrals would be a great idea for more of the older doll collectors. They could still be super cute and fun, but not all colorful.;)
More pieces! Is it just me or do you think that the prices are getting higher, and there seems to sometimes be fewer pieces in the sets? I'd change that!
Things would ACTUALLY go! Yeah, the outfits would actually match or at least compliment the other colors. Because some of the outfits AG has come out with need to have some color changes.XD

4. New face molds
I have no idea if this would be hard, but I would want to do it! Because I am getting a little tired of the classic face mold and Josefina face mold...
Plus, how about they make another doll with the Marie-Grace face mold? Huh? HUH?!
5. Stop. Making. Movies.
I would stop making GOTY movies! They're terribly cheesy most of the time and the acting...*shudders* AND if the American Girl's age is 11, I'd ACTUALLY get an 11 year old to play the part, not a Justice model who looks like she is 14!XD
Adding onto this idea, I would bring back the Historical Character movies. I'd make them like how they used to be made- AMAZING.

6. Character creativity
It can't be just me who thinks that American Girl reuses a lot of the same themes for their dolls (especially GOTY). We've had at least three somewhat tropical Girl of the Years... We've had tons who love horses or animals in general.
I think it's time to get some new ideas!
How about a brainiac who wants to grow up to be an inventor? What about a girl who has a passion to help people who suffer. The story would be all about her helping kids at hospitals or helping out at elderly homes! A girl living in the U.S. who comes from a Mexican heritage, and some family emergency occurs, pulling her out of America and forcing her to go back to Mexico and get in touch with her roots!
These are just some random ideas off of the top of my head, but we could use some diversity for their stories and interests!

7. MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM DOLL BOOTH!!!!
I would do this so hard. You would be able to make a custom doll in store and get her within a couple weeks or so! I have no idea how realistic this is, but I would love to do it!:D

So, those are just some ideas I have that might help make the company better. You know, for when I become CEO in 10 years.
Pssssshhh...
I love AG, and this wasn't a post where I could complain, but just some ideas I have.;) I hope you enjoyed!

What kind of changes would YOU make to American Girl if you had the chance?:)

Little Baker - A Photoshoot

Hi everyone!:)
I hope all of you are having a great day so far!:) Yesterday, I took a photoshoot of Eden in her baking outfit from the previous photostory she was in because she just looked so cute!:D
I love how these pictures came out, and I hope you do, too!:D

Eden is seriously the most photogenic doll!:D I kept wanting to take more and more pictures!XD The lighting was really great, too, so I didn't have to strain to find the right angles!;)

Which doll of yours is the hardest to take good pictures of?
I think for me, mine might be Elizabeth or Molly. Their hair is pretty bad and they're really old.;)

Nothing Stops the Blues Better Than Pancakes! - A Photostory

Hi everyone!
I took pictures for this photostory probably around two weeks ago and now I am finally posting it! Yay!;)

Elsa and Aurora stood in their mostly gutted living room, sniffling. They gazed forlornly at their stacked furniture and packed belongings and held back tears.
"Girls!" Eden cried and popped into the living room. "What are you guys doing in here? All of the other girls are in the van. Why aren't you with them?"
Aurora sniffed and tears brimmed her violet eyes. "We didn't want them to see us cry!"
"Why would you be crying? We aren't moving far away," Eden replied, moving closer to them and setting a comforting hand on Aurora's shoulder.
"We are going to miss our home," Elsa mumbled.
"I know, girls. But look! We are only going to be moving right over there. We can even see it from here!" Eden pointed to the far corner of Emma'sRoomTopia.
"We don't want to move! We want to stay right here," Elsa wailed, moved to a stack of chairs and hugged them.
"Hey, I have an idea that might cheer you two up. We don't have a fully working kitchen but we have a griddle right there and I happened to buy some ingredients for pancakes. What do you say? You girls want pancakes?" Eden questioned.
They looked to each other with broad grins on their round faces.
"YES!" They both cried.
Eden smiled and walked to the griddle, plugged it in, then mixed the ingredients she had bought. She dolloped pancake mix onto the sizzling griddle until they were bubbling on the edge.
She managed to flip them with a plastic fork and she waited until both sides were a delicious golden brown color. She pulled the griddle's plug and placed the steaming pancakes on a box.
Eden glanced at Aurora's wide eyes and she smiled.
"Go on, you can take one but be careful, they're hot."
Aurora grabbed one of the pancakes and blew on it before taking a tentative bite. She chewed on it slowly and in silence. Eden and Elsa held their breath as she swallowed.
Aurora spun around and held the pancake up in the air.
"It's good!" She yelled. Elsa squealed, grabbed a pancake, and popped it into her mouth.
"Mmmm," She nodded her head and Eden beamed.
"Are you guys feeling better now?" She asked hopefully. They gave each other a smile and nodded vigorously, mouths full.

I hope you liked the story! When I took the pictures, we were going to make homemade pumpkin pancakes. They were amazing!:D

What's your favorite breakfast food?
Bonus Pictures---

I cut the pancakes out of colored paper, then colored them in in the middle of the story. In this picture you can really see the color, unlike during the story, where they look bright white.;)
